In this folder you will find four different word documents. I used all of these when teaching soil to my 3rd grade class.
The first document is a 5 question soil pretest which just asks the students basic questions to see what they know about soil.
The 2nd document is a Soil Sample Questionnaire where they are to bring in soil from home and make observations about the soil. Then they compare it to soil they found in three different locations at your school. Try to pick locations with different types of soil ex: the playground and the flowerbed.
The 3rd document is a Venn diagram where they compare and contrast their soil from home and from school.
The last document is a who am I soil worksheet with gives different properties of the soil and the students have to figure out which soil belongs to each statement. There is a word bank included.
