Description

This Solar System Coloring Book complements EduKing's Montessori 3-part Solar System cards and the book, "Mother Sun Has Nine Big Children".

See my books and digital products for more science and cultural resources.

Children in Montessori classrooms and home schools will be familiar with the concept of 3-part cards (also known as nomenclature cards), which are used to aid the development of vocabulary, sequencing, classification, reading and writing. This coloring book allows children to create their very own book of the Solar System as follow-up to this lesson.

Print out the book pages and cut them in half on the center line.

After a child has matched the 3-part Solar System cards or read the "Mother Sun Has Nine Big Children" book, invite them to use pencils, crayons, pastels, felt pens, or paints to color each of the planets based on the photos in the book and on the 3-part cards.

When the sheets are complete, staple the pages of the book together in the correct order.
