Description

This Solfege sight singing unit will give students a great introduction to basic sight singing using Solfege syllables. It also incorporates counting of basic note values and rhythms.

There are 6 lesson worksheets that students can work through as you teach them:

  • How the notes of the C major scale correspond to Solfege syllables
  • How to count basic rhythms (using whatever system is most suited to your class).

After students write in counting and Solfege, they can clap and count the rhythm lines, and sing through the different melodic lines.

This easy-prep resource includes:

  • A review sheet
  • A unit quiz
  • Answer sheets for all student worksheets, including the review and quiz

This is a great, easy-to-use resource for the music classroom. It’s well-organized, engaging, and works well for a range of grade levels. The activities keep students involved while reinforcing important music concepts. Overall, a solid, flexible tool that supports both teaching and student learning.

I enjoyed using this by breaking it into smaller packets for my students. It was very helpful in reinforcing and reviewing for the older grades and starting from the beginning with the younger grades. I look forward to using it again this year whether teaching in person or remotely.
