This set of printable task cards gives students the opportunity to practice their skills at solving one-step equations. Problems start out with models and whole numbers and progress to negative integers, decimals and fractions.

Task Cards may be used as formative assessment, stations, speed dating activity(a favorite with my classes), extra practice, learning center for early finishers, white board problems, warm ups, Jeopardy or questions for other games, quiz-quiz-trade, etc.

This set of task cards includes 30 cards that ask students to solve linear equations that only require one-step to solve.

Cards 1-4: Models help students visually conceptualize solving the equations.

Cards 5-30: Solve equations problems get more difficult as you go

Answer key and typed worksheet also included at the end of this file if you would like to use that as a student answer form.

Extension: Two fill-in-the-blank task cards are included at the end of this file. Ask students to create their own problems to solve.
