This Puzzle Match Activity is part of:

2017 Google Interactive Membership {GROWING BUNDLE} - Current & Future Products

This ❤ Google Interactive Activity ❤ is an engaging practice of finding "Solving Polynomial Equations" . When my students completed this activity they said: "We should do more of this". This products assess many aspects of solving Polynomial Equations. I strongly encourage you to see the "SHORT VIDEO" that I've attached in the preview. I hope that you find it beneficial.

In this activity students would solve a higher degree polynomial. Therefore, students would need to consider solving by any of the following strategies:

☑ Factoring GCF

☑ Factoring Trinomials

☑ Factoring Difference of Two Squares

☑ Factoring Sum and Difference of Two Cubes

☑ Factoring Quadratic Form

☑ Solve by using the Square Root Property

☑ Solve by using the Quadratic Formula

The solutions of these polynomials maybe:

☑ Real Solutions only

☑ Real and Complex Solutions

Students would need to be familiar with the basics of the "Fundamental Theorem of Algebra". They would at least need to know that number of roots of a polynomial is related to the degree of the polynomial.

There are 9 questions where a different polynomial function is provided. Students would have to:

☑ Determine number of roots and match the puzzle piece

☑ Find the roots and match the puzzle pieces

I have assigned this activity in the classroom as my students did some work in the class and had to finish the rest at home. I witnessed many "AHHAA" moments during this activity that I know I have not seen while practicing the same concepts on paper. I guess Google Interactive is some how magical and help students connect.

In this activity students will be using Google Slides. Some students used their computers, some used their phones, while others used their IPADs. As long as there is a Google Drive there is a way.

I have attached an example slide to this products to helps students refresh in solving Polynomial Functions.

The answer key is included in the file. I usually share it when all assignments are turned in "Electronically"

I use Algebra II Common Core Pearson Textbook. This activity works very well with Section 5.3: Solving Polynomial Equations

If you are interested in models that are already factored and have less zeros, multiplicity is 1, and answers are always integers, then check out this Google Interactive Maze.

Also, If you are interested in models that have more zeros, higher multiplicities, and Fraction answers, then check out this Google Interactive Maze.

This was great for practice! This was a great option that allowed students to be able to recognize their solution rather than create it!
