Description

Solve and switch task cards are a great option to use for your math centers. The task cards can also be used individually for early finishers by having a student. Since the answers are on the back of the cards the students can check their own work. Almost all the kits are common core aligned and have an objective card with the standard included on it.

What’s Included:

-24 math task cards

-24 answer cards

-container labels (color and black & white)

-task card place for students to set cards

-task person card

-objective card

-marker card

-optional recording sheet

-directions

-prep suggestions

How to Play

Each student will need a white board and dry erase marker. The task person will choose a card and pass the task person card to the left when their turn is over. Each playing student will solve the problem and turn their board over when they are done and put their marker down. The marker card could be used for this or not. This will signal to the leader that the question is answered. When everyone is ready the task person will say “share” and everyone will turn over their boards to compare and check their answer. If someone’s is incorrect then the others should help coach the student. Students continue this way until time is up.

Subtract multiples of 10 in the range 10-90 from multiples of 10 in the range 10-90 (positive or zero differences), using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction; relate the strategy to a written method and explain the reasoning used.
Apply properties of operations as strategies to add and subtract. If 8 + 3 = 11 is known, then 3 + 8 = 11 is also known. (Commutative property of addition.) To add 2 + 6 + 4, the second two numbers can be added to make a ten, so 2 + 6 + 4 = 2 + 10 = 12. (Associative property of addition.)
