This is a song about how to solve equations to the tune of "1 2 Step" by Ciara. My students and I sing this multiple times throughout the year to solve equations. I also use it as a call and response when students get stuck and don't know what to do. I'll watch students mouthing the words on tests and quizzes to help them remember. I've also gotten public performances when I've run into students outside of school.

To use in your classroom search on YouTube or download an instrumental version of "1 2 Step" by Ciara. Copy the song lyrics for students to see easily. Sing along to the instrumental. I have my students stand up and they come up with fun dance moves that help us remember what to do. Have fun singing and solving with your students!
