Description

Students will demonstrate their understanding of solving two-step equations involving absolute value by using the properties of equalities and absolute value. Students should understand when there is no solution or ∅. The answer key has abbreviated number lines.

These cards can be used in various ways such as: a pre or post test activity, classwork, early finisher work, Math centers or a whole class activity with the cards scattered around the room on the walls for classroom movement and interaction, 2-4 problem assessments and many more ideas.


There are 6 different answer recording sheets depending on how you want to use the cards.

Ideal for Pre-Algebra and Algebra I students.

This resource contains:
teacher directions
20 cards set up as 4 per sheet

20 cards set up as 2 per sheet

answer sheet - for 20 task cards with columns: Task Card #, Problem and Graphs (number lines, student place numbers) Problems are entered.

answer sheet - for 10 task cards with columns: Task Card #, Problem and Graphs (number lines, student place numbers) No problems entered.

answer sheet - half sheets for 10 task cards to graph on drawn number lines (students place numbers on number lines)

answer sheet - 1 labeled with numbers 1-10 and 1 labeled with numbers 11-20 with room for work and number lines

answer sheet - teacher picks 4 cards to use, students draw number lines and can be used for a possible assessment

answer sheet - teacher picks 2 cards to use, students draw number lines and can be used for a possible assessment
answer keys
