Solving Linear Systems DIGITAL Partner Worksheet - Distance Learning

This is a worksheet to practice solving systems of equations using substitution and elimination. Partners work on separate worksheets that contain the same systems but use a different method to solve. When students are finished they should have the same answers as their partner.

This includes special cases. Good for Algebra 1 and Algebra 2! Answer key is included.

An alternative to letting students choose their partners is to randomly distribute the A and B worksheets and tell students to find a person that has the other form to assign partners, either before they work on the worksheet or after they've completed it.

Extension: Discuss the pros and cons to the methods. Have students discuss if there would have been a better method to use on certain problems and why.

My students have a hard time working together and are very quiet, but as this activity assigned tasks to each person it helped them to stay on task and have a discussion about how they got to their solution and looked over each other's work when needed. They liked practicing the difference between substitution and elimination as well.
