Solving Log Equations DIGITAL Ready for Sum Math!
This group activity practices solving log equations. There are 5 groups of card sets that each contain 4 problems. Each set is differentiated by different shapes: heart, lightning, smiley, star, and sun. Every set of cards has the same sum. Students won’t know what the correct sum is supposed to be, so one option is having the groups check with each other to make sure they have the correct sum. Groups can rotate the sets as many times as the class time allows. You could also time them and have them rotate every certain number of minutes. Another option is to make it into a game - whichever group completes all 5 sets and figures out the correct sum wins!
Each set contains one equation with a log on both sides, one with a single log, one with the difference of two logs, and one equation containing the sum of two logs.
Includes activity, an answer sheet for students to record their answers, and a teacher answer key.
