Description
2 DAYS of notes and assignments over Solving Logarithmic Equations Algebra 2. TUTORIAL VIDEO included (no prep to you!) and can be found on my YouTube Channel: mandy’s math world - the video is on the Algebra 2 Unit 7: Exponential and Logarithmic Functions Unit playlist! This is GREAT for distance learning as well as for students who are absent or who need to see the lesson again!
Concepts included in this lesson:
- Solve a logarithmic equation when there is a log on one side of the equation. Students will use the properties of logarithms to condense logs and will convert to exponential form to solve. Students will be checking for extraneous solutions.
- Solve a logarithmic equation with there is a log on both sides of the equation. In these cases, the bases will be the same on both sides so the students will be able to cancel out the logs and solve a basic linear or quadratic equation. Students will be checking to make sure answers are valid.
Students should be proficient in factoring quadratics prior to this lesson.
These are lessons 6-7 in my Unit 7: Exponential and Logarithmic Functions for Algebra 2.
