Description

An engaging math escape room for solving logarithmic equations. Students must unlock 5 locks by solving 20 log equations with x as either the base, the exponent or the argument. Questions are grouped 4 per puzzle, resulting in five 4-letter codes that will unlock all 5 locks. No equations involve the natural log.

The entire activity is housed in one GOOGLE Form. There are no links to outside websites. The 4-letter codes are set with answer validation so that students cannot move to the next puzzle until they enter the correct code. Includes answer key.

To add the digital escape room to your Google Drive: please open the PDF and click the button on page 3.

A printable PDF version has also been added to the file. Students can work in groups, each group starting at a different puzzle. Once done, students check the NEXT STEP box for which puzzle to visit next.

The students worked hard on the activity and stayed engaged on it. We used it as a good review of the lessons we have been working on. Also, I asked a question about a problem I thought there was a mistake on, and I got an instant response. The seller's response also helped me to find my own error! :) So, thank you for the product and thank you for your quick help!

I needed no prep sub plans when I was out of school without notice, this was perfect! The sub said the students worked on it the whole time. I did have the sub collect the work for all the problems for the students to earn credit.

At first, my students struggled to understand the process, but once they knew the escape room method, they loved it and began to battle to see who could get to each clue first. It was great watching the learning become fun and secondary to completing the escape!
