Amanda has been teaching math since 2010. She has experience working with students in grades 5-12. Starting her career as an eighth grade math teacher, she has since worked as a math interventionist in grades 5-8, tutored students in grades 5-12+, and taught part-time at an alternative education high school. After teaching remotely in 2020 as a middle school math teacher, she spent two years teaching Algebra 1 and Geometry at the high school level. Amanda now works from home as a math curriculum contractor for a nonprofit assessment company with a focus on grades 3-8, continues to share ideas and resources with the Free to Discover community, and homeschools her two children. She holds a valid teaching certification spanning grades 5-12 Mathematics in New Hampshire. All of this experience has given her a broad understanding of the scope and sequence of elementary and secondary mathematics education.
