Description
Here is a fun way to review multi-step equations. This activity works well with both Pre-Algebra and Algebra classes.
The activity is four pages long and includes 18 pairs of equations (or 36 problems).
For each question, students solve equations for "x" and "y." Then the connect their answers on the axis (graph) and discover the hidden design. Most of my students enjoy coloring the design in a checkerboard pattern after they finish.
This is a fantastic review of solving equations. Students have to work hard to get the answers, but it is rewarding. For many of them this is an activity where there problem solving skills solidify.
