Description

This lesson contains editable guided notes and quiz documents in addition to digital and print components that maximize versatility for 1:1 technology, blended learning, or flipped classrooms.

The guided notes, practice activities, and quiz each have a digital and a printable version.

  • Students will solve 1-variable linear equations with variables on both sides that require combining like terms or the distributive property.
  • Students will solve linear equations with no solution and all real numbers and understand how to interpret the solution when solving algebraically.
  • Students will solve linear equations involving fractions by multiplying both sides of the equation by the least common denominator (LCD) to clear the fractions.

Guided Notes FAQ: Are the digital and print notes options the same?

This resource includes notes and example problems. It can be assigned as a digital Google Slides task for classrooms using 1:1 tech, in flipped classrooms, or for absent students. The digital and print versions are interchangeable, so the Slides version may be used for instruction on the board while students use either the digital or print version for note taking.

Guided Notes FAQ: Can I edit the notes?

The editable print version can be modified in Google Docs. All text and formatting is editable, so it is easy to increase text size, add/remove problems, translate to another language, or make other modifications as needed! The digital Google Slides guided notes resource allows for adding/removing slides. Editable typed-response Slides templates are included to make it easy to add custom problems! (The text on the pre-made slides is not editable in order to ensure a hassle-free student experience.)

Video FAQ: What does the video include?

The video includes a problem-walkthrough of every example problem in the guided notes. This provides a valuable resource for students (and parents!).

Video FAQ: How should I use the video explanations?

The video explanations of the example problems provide a versatile solution that can be used in a wide variety of situations:

  • sub plans
  • absent students
  • student/parent resource
  • flipped classrooms
  • in-class stations

Practice Activities FAQ: Are the digital and print practice activity options the same?

This resource includes 2 practice activities. They can be assigned as a digital Google Slides task for classrooms using 1:1 tech, in flipped classrooms, or for absent students. The PDF print version contains the same problems as the digital version, although the instructions may vary slightly. For example, sequence the steps vs. explain the steps.

Practice Activities FAQ: Can I edit the practice activities?

The printable versions of the activities are not editable. The digital Google Slides practice activities allow for adding/removing slides. Editable typed-response Slides templates are included to make it easy to add custom problems! (The text on the pre-made slides is not editable in order to ensure a hassle-free student experience.)

Quiz FAQ: Are the digital and print quiz options the same?

This resource includes a lesson quiz. It can be assigned as a digital Google Forms quiz for classrooms using Google Classroom or other compatible LMS.
