"I wish I just had a practice worksheet with just multiplication equations."

"I wish I just had a practice worksheet with just division equations."

"I wish the equations were just positive integers."

"My students are struggling with identifying the two sides of an equation. I wish each equation had a line down the equal sign."

"I wish there was an answer key with all of the work shown so students can check their work independently."

"I wish there was a quick self check-in for students to rate their understanding of solving one-step equations."

These were my thoughts as a teacher when looking for an instructional resource to help students solve one-step equations. The equations in this worksheet is methodically thought out. The placement of the variable changes so that the students get practice when the equation is written differently, but they are still solving multiplication and division equations.

This product contains:

  • Solving One-Step Multiplication Equations worksheet
  • 2 modified versions of one-step multiplication equations
  • Solving One-Step Division Equations worksheet
  • 2 modified versions of one-step division equations
  • Answer key to both multiplication and division worksheets

There are 2 modified versions of BOTH worksheets. The first one has a line down the equal sign for students who are struggling to identify the two sides to the equation. The second worksheet has squares specifically placed underneath the equation to help students start the first step.

On each worksheet, there is a section on the bottom for the students to do a quick self-reflection on how confident they feel in solving one-step equations. This gives the teacher quick data on their students to see if they need more practice or if they're ready for a challenge!

There is an answer key WITH WORK so that students can check their work independently (post the answer key on Google Classroom!) and identify at which step they made their mistake.
