Description
Guided Notes & Lesson Plans (Answer Key Included)
Tired of watching your students stare blankly at quadratic equations? This digital set of notes is here to change that. It walks them through understanding the zero product property and solving equations step by step. It’s straightforward, student-friendly, and perfect for helping those lightbulb moments happen. Whether you're introducing the concept or reviewing before a quiz, this resource has your back.
In this lesson, students will extend their knowledge of factoring quadratic trinomials to the factored form of a quadratic function and how this form can be helpful in solving quadratic equations. Students will reason about the number zero and develop the zero product property. Finally, students will put all their ideas together and solve quadratic equations by setting the equation equal to zero, factoring the quadratic, and setting each factor equal to zero.
Lesson plans and answer keys (filled in notes) are included. The lesson plans include essential understandings, learning objectives, Common Core standards, an overview, and the structure of the lesson. Answer Keys are colorful and include helpful margin notes.
This notes page is 2 of 5 in my Solving Quadratic Equations Using Multiple Strategies Mini Unit. If you enjoy this lesson, please consider checking out the rest of the series.
