Solving Quadratics Using Square Roots Circuit
Share

Description

This self-checking resource contains 10 problems for students to practice solving quadratic equations (where b=0) by using square roots. Learners answer the first problem, then find their answer on the worksheet. The correct answer gives them the next problem. Students continue until all 10 problems are completed and the final answer leads them back to the first one. They know their work is correct by ending at the same answer they started with after all 10 problems are finished. In addition to the student being able to check their work after each problem, the activity can be quickly checked by an adult by looking at the problem order at the bottom of the page. This product is scaffolded by starting with easier problems, then increasing in difficulty as the circuit progresses. The first several problems produce integer answers and many of the later ones contain decimals.

The problems in this resource contain both rational and irrational answers. It is intended to be completed with a calculator.
