Systems Word Problems TEKS Aligned: A2I, A5C
This is a double-sided practice page on solving systems of equations word problems. This practice page is for the beginner or first day of solving systems word problems. There are 6 questions total.
All 3 questions on the front are "quantity" questions such as "Don bought 2 scarves and one hat for $13. Kris bought 1 scarf and 2 hats for $14. How much is one scarf and one hat?". These 3 questions pair perfectly with my Setting Up Systems of Equations Notes which I use to introduce the concept.
The 3 questions on the back cover "number" questions such as "the sum of two numbers is 8. Their difference is 16. What are the two numbers?" The 3rd question is an age problem, but is similar in concept to the number questions (I want to stretch their thinking here a bit). These 3 questions pair perfectly with my Systems of Equations Activity (Solving Word Problems). 4 pages. Key included.
