Description
This is an organizer I created to help my second-grade students solve multi-step word problems while marking up the problem and showing their work using common addition and subtraction strategies. Though this packet focuses on grade 2, with a blank space for writing the word problem, it can easily be used for addition and subtraction problems in grades 1-5.
A step-by-step process is included with ways to mark up the problem, along with common key words and strategies used to solve problems. Also included is 16 multi-step word problems formatted to be able to be cut and glued to the organizer for easy access and marking. There is space for students to show their work, mark off which strategy they used, and write their answer with a label.
