Description
This organizer introduces a method for solving problems that help students identify the question and associated variables, find important information, draw needed pictures (for geometric problems) and translate words into operations. I find this particularly useful when students are first beginning to solve word problems. Once students learn how to think about a problem, the organizer is usually not needed. I introduce sets of word problems by type. Students succeed when given multiple problems to solve that are a similar type. See my word problems sets for examples.
