54 CVC Words – Short vowel words with clear photographic representation.
44 CCVC Words – Short vowel words with initial consonant blends.
34 CVCC Words – Short vowel words with final consonant blends.
48 CVCE Words – Long vowel words with silent "e".
18 CCVCE Words – Long vowel words with initial consonant blends and silent "e".
Sound Box Cards – Designed for 3-sound and 4-sound words to support phoneme segmentation.

Ways to Use This Resource:

✔️ Small Group or Center Activity – Use with letter tiles or magnetic letters for hands-on learning.
✔️ RTI & Intervention – One-on-one practice to support struggling readers.
✔️ Phonemic Awareness Practice – Students push counters into each box as they segment sounds.
✔️ Letter-Sound Correspondence – Use alphabet magnets or letter tiles to reinforce spelling.
✔️ Dry-Erase Practice – Laminate the cards for write-and-wipe activities with dry-erase markers.

How It Works:

Each word is broken into sound boxes, helping students push counters forward as they say each phoneme. For example, in the word “clam”, students would segment:
/c/ /l/ /a/ /m/ – Pushing a counter into each box for each sound.
Left-to-Right Reading – Students slide their finger under the boxes to reinforce reading directionality.

Why Choose These Sound Boxes?

✔️ Science of Reading-Aligned – Supports phonemic awareness and phonological processing.
✔️ Engaging & Hands-On – Interactive learning with real-life images for better retention.
✔️ Perfect for ESL & Early Learners – Helps build vocabulary and letter-sound recognition.
✔️ Versatile & Easy to Use – Ideal for small groups, centers, interventions, and independent work.
