Description

This is a bundle of my Small Science: Sound unit & Sound Boom Cards Digital Learning Deck.

This Small Science: Sound is aimed at kindergarten and lower elementary school (Grade 1-3) students as well as home-school students. It is fun and hands on STEM inquiry, which explores the science of sound, vibrations and sound waves.

This Sound Unit is 30 pages in total and appropriate for one week to one month. For the teacher, there is background information which simply explains the science involved, a page of picture book suggestions, additional activity suggestions as well as 2 challenge cards to laminate and save. It includes 3 color visual step by step experiments on sound caused through vibration. Each of these activities comes with a printable observation worksheet. This resource contains 10 full color classroom/ center posters and 6 printable worksheets.

This set of Boom Cards explores loud and soft sounds, vibrations and sound waves. They are self correcting and feature audio on every card and are suitable for diverse learners. These digital quizzes can be played on Smartboards, computers, and tablets. They are ideal for science centres, classroom & remote learning. These are perfect for kindergarten and lower elementary school students.

Examples of devices could include a light source to send signals, paper cup and string "telephones," and a pattern of drum beats. Assessment does not include technological details for how communication devices work.

Plan and conduct investigations to provide evidence that vibrating materials can make sound and that sound can make materials vibrate. Examples of vibrating materials that make sound could include tuning forks and plucking a stretched string. Examples of how sound can make matter vibrate could include holding a piece of paper near a speaker making sound and holding an object near a vibrating tuning fork.
