Description
A massively HUGE hit in my classroom!
After studying colonization, invite your students to design their own colony... in space! Incorporates science, social studies, reading, writing, researching, and communicating skills. Allows students to pursue areas of interest and be creative while simultaneously hitting required learning targets. A great problem-solving, higher-order thinking project that every student can engage in!
Download includes project overview, detailed grading rubric based on the Standards Based Grading system (but easily adapted to the A-F, 4-point grading scale), instructions and stencils for the creative and artistic "Data Disk," "Survival Worksheet," and instructions for an optional, but oh-so-fun "Celestial Snack Celebration." Data Disk pages are meant to be printed on legal sized paper.
Appropriate for fifth through twelfth grade, or highly capable or gifted third or fourth grade.
