Description
Solving word problems is a skill that often requires lots of practice to master; these task cards are one way to add extra practice with word problems. In addition, these are all based on real life, with an insect theme. You can integrate science enrichment while working on math, making the practice more meaningful for students!
Language: 100% Spanish, and suitable for dual language, dual immersion, bilingual, and native Spanish-speaking classrooms.
How it works: 24 place value cards are included, with a recording sheet for student use, plus an answer key. Additionally, full-page versions are included that enable you to project the problems for the whole class to use at once. Use them with board games; hunt for them around the room; place them in a center; use them in math workshop; use them as morning work; send a few home as differentiated homework; play whole-class games like Scoot...however you choose to use them, you'll find one problem per card for the student to solve. Like all of my task card sets, each card has the title of the set plus a small clip art image that is unique to that set. Mix up a few sets for differentiation? It will be easy to sort them out when you're finished!
Standards: Aligned to CCSS and TEKS for fourth grade. CCSS 3.OA.3 and 3.OA.7, and TEKS 3.b.4.F and 3.b.4.K
Grade Levels: Especially relevant for third graders, but also great for review and/or differentiation at higher levels and lower levels.
Resource Type: Task card set of 24 cards plus student recording sheet, answer key, full-page versions of each card, standards alignment, and notes to the teacher.
Printing: These cards use very light color on a simple border and small clip art image on each card. Don't have or don't want to use a color printer? Just print in black and white or gray scale.

CCSS3.OA.A.3
Use multiplication and division within 100 to solve word problems in situations involving equal groups, arrays, and measurement quantities, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
CCSS3.OA.C.7
Fluently multiply and divide within 100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division (e.g., knowing that 8 × 5 = 40, one knows 40 ÷ 5 = 8) or properties of operations. By the end of Grade 3, know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.
