What is the purpose of this resource?

Teaching math is my jam. Over the years, I've developed an intensive program to explicitly help my struggling learners demonstrate mastery of basic skills. I'm taking what I've learned and found to be helpful and compiled it into this resource! It's like having a co-teacher in the classroom. I will take you through step-by-step exactly what to say and do (with tons of models and images) so you are teaching math like a pro!

What is included with my purchase?

  • 15 Days of Instruction - including models and examples so you know EXACTLY what to do (over 90 pages!)
  • Over 90 pages of materials for student workbooks
  • A full answer key with hand-drawn examples to show what student work should look like

What topics are covered?

  • Multiplication – Basic Facts
  • Multiplication – Area Model
  • Multiplication – Distributive Property
  • Multiplication – Partial Products
  • Division – Basic Facts
  • Evaluating Remainders
  • “Skip Counting Squad”
  • Division – Area Model
  • Division – Distributive Property
  • Division – Ladder Method

Is there a lesson plan included?
Yes! That's what makes this resource so amazing! Every lesson includes a 6-part lesson plan (warm-up, targets, teacher-led, guided, exit ticket, extra practice). I've included hand-drawn models and images so that you can see what student work should look like and how to exactly draw your models on the board.

Who is this resource for?

This resource is for teachers who:

  • are homeschool teachers
  • do tutoring
  • need a ready-to-go set of plans for your lowest level learners
  • want to better understand the math curriculum and how to effectively teach it

This resource is for students who:

  • have special needs
  • are working on grade-level standards, but need them at their most basic level
  • need to learn the basics before they work on complex grade-level skills and multi-step problems

This resource teaches the standards, but in an easy-to-follow way! Students are going to learn how to complete grade-level skills, but in isolation with tons of support. They will take what they learn here and apply it to the more complex skills and problems found in your district provided curriculum

Does this replace my school's curriculum?
No! This works in conjunction with what your district has provided. This is designed to be used with a small group of students (6 or less). Does this sound familiar?

Your curriculum has you teach students how to multiply using an area model for one day of instruction. And then, on the following day they get this problem:

Jessica thinks that 52 x 34 is 49 because 5 x 3 is 15, 32 x 4 is 8, 2 x 3 is 6 and 5 x 4 is 20. She added together all of the partial products and got 49 as her product. Is she correct? Why or why not?

Ummmm, what? We've barely learned how to multiply them and this book wants them to tackle this tough word problem which involves evaluating another student's work?

That's where this resource comes in. My resource provides students with tons of foundational skill work so that they can practice the basic skills before they apply them to your curriculum. There are no trick questions in this resource. This resource takes students back to the standards in their most basic sense.
