Description
Ready, Set, Solve. Speed Word Problems gave my students a chance to think a little more critically using the multi-step process to find and compare speed. The goal of this lesson is to bring to the forefront, the student's thinking and metacognitive thought process. In other words, don't just give me the answer. Show me how you figured it out. I also included a detailed answer key with explanations for each problem. In my class, I have the student leader use the answer key to help facilitate group discussion, but at times, I also use the answer key to simply give students a chance to check their work. I hope these problems will help your students step it up a notch.
