There are three activities in this sports themed math resource!
Activity 1
At first glance, the activity looks like nothing more than a worksheet, and it can certainly be used as that. What made this awesome for students is that it includes a link to a sports clip for each word problem. Students click the link and see the event mentioned in the word problem. I includes a variety of sports to keep everyone’s interest. Some of the problems are a bit challenging. I designed them for my fourth graders, so they would be useful in fifth grade and possibly for third grade with a little guidance on a few of the decimal problems.
If you prefer task cards, I have that too! There is a QR Code on each task card that will direct students to the video link.
Activity 2
The one-page version of the Sports Math activity is also available with all new questions with a Winter Olympics theme. Your students will love these videos!
Activity 3
These 24 sports themed addition and subtraction task cards would be great for math work stations or math centers. Many of the word problems include facts and world records about current sports stars to help keep students motivated and engaged.
