Description

My Budget Spreadsheet Activities introduces students to learning about budgeting money for the beginning salary of a career they think they would like to pursue. I ask students to complete the included Career Choice sheet listing what they think they would like to do for a career BEFORE telling them they are going to learn about budgeting money or they will all chose a doctor or lawyer for a career.

My Budget Spreadsheet Activities includes deducting taxes and calculating typical budget amounts for rent, a vehicle, insurance, utilities, etc. A PowerPoint presentation explaining taxes to your students is included.

Students then look for an apartment, a vehicle, and plan for two fun days/nights of entertainment and dining out.

These activities are for students with prior spreadsheet experience and includes both Excel and a link to Google Sheets. Students will be introduced to creating an ABSOLUTE CELL reference.

My Budget Spreadsheet Activities Includes:

  • My Budget Part 1 – Taxes (includes PowerPoint presentation to introduce taxes to students)
  • My Budget Part 2 – Monthly Budget Calculations
  • My Budget Part 3 – Apartment, Vehicle, Entertainment & Dining Out
  • Teacher Directions
