Level 1: Goal is to match the manipulatives of the spring actions to the pages with a single picture demonstrating actions like "jumping", "feeding", and etc. The pages have a picture of the spring action and the word labeling the action underneath.
Level 2: Goal is to find the matching spring actions. The pages have both pictures of the kids/animals demonstrating spring actions in a spring scene and sentences like "The girl is climbing." or "The bird is singing."
Level 3: Goal is to find the matching spring actions. The pages have pictures of kids/animals demonstrating spring actions in a spring scene with questions like "What is he doing?" or "What is the bunny doing?" **This includes the core words "what", "he", and "she".
Level 4 with visuals: This level has one spring action per page. The first page asks "What is the girl/boy/animal doing?" which allows students to label the action initially. The second page labels the action in a simple sentence such as "She is climbing up the tree." Goal is to touch or identify the matching visual as you read through the booklet. *Tip- Print and laminate the visuals page and pull up the book on an iPad, tablet, computer, or Smart Board. While you read the book, have the students touch the visual that matches the actions targeted.
*Note: The levels do not equate to grade levels, they are used for differentiating purposes.
