Description

This Spring Writing Craft is perfect for teaching the basics of writing poetry during Poetry Month or for your April Bulletin Board display. Students build their understanding of the different types of poems and create a spring-themed poem as an example of each type. These store perfectly in the small pocket making a perfect Poetry Month bulletin board to decorate this April.

Each poem card contains space for students to write their poems, with visual cues to remind them of the key features. The back of each card defines the poetry type and any specific requirements for lines, syllables, etc.

Super cute and a fun way to celebrate Spring or enjoy Poetry Month this April!

My students had a lot of fun using the templates included in the packet of poems. My fifth graders also told me that I should knock 1 point off because you did not have a diamond shape template to use to write our Diamante poems!
