Description
This no-prep, game-based Spring Break Simulation will be a fun activity for the last day of school before students go on break! In this spring break activity with printable and digital options, students will work on their budgeting, problem-solving, and executive functioning skills to plan out a spring break trip for themselves and their friends!
Simulations can be such fun and meaningful activities, but they often take a lot of work and preparation to set up, which is why we did all of the work for you! You don't need to cut, purchase, or set-up anything to do this simulation, simply present the slideshow to your students and copy or share the handout with them.
This simulation features eight different rounds. In each round, students must make a decision about a certain topic or roll the dice to see what might happen on their trip. The eight rounds are:
- Where will you travel?
- What will you pack?
- How will you get to your destination?
- Where will you stay?
- What will you do?
- Where will you eat?
- What souvenirs will you buy?
- When will you head home?
The slides that facilitate the simulation are organized and take students step-by-step through the entire process. Students do not need to conduct their own research, as all options are presented on the simulation slideshow. Throughout the simulation, students will calculate how many points they have earned and make sure they stay within their budget. Finally, the slideshow ends with some optional discussion questions you can use at the end of the simulation if you still have extra time.
This epic Spring Break Simulation includes the following components:
- Detailed Teacher Guide (PDF)
- Spring Break Simulation Slideshow (Editable Google Slideshow with 37 slides)
- Spring Break Simulation Journal (Student handouts available for printable PDF and editable Google Doc)
This simulation is structured the same way as our Winter Break Simulation, with different trip options and different graphics.
