Description
I'm so excited for the weather to finally be warming up, so I decided to make some Spring themed games for therapy. Enjoy 5 new, fun Spring-themed expressive language activites! These games provide motivating, engaging themes (bugs, butterflies, flowers, snails, etc.) for your students to work on 5 different expressive language tasks. The five Spring-themed games include:
1. Snail Synonyms - addressing synonyms
In this game, you are asked to find as many snail cards as you can. On the bottom of each card is a word that you must provide a synonym for in order to "collect" the card. Included in this game is:
* 48 snail cards with synonyms
* a blank sheet for you to add your own examples
* Answer Key
3. Butterfly Opposites - addressing opposites
In this game, you are asked to find as many butterfly cards as you can. On the bottom of each card is a word that you must find an antonym for in order to "collect" the card. You can also use these cards as flashcards. Included in this game is:
* 48 butterfly cards with antonyms
* one blank sheet for you to add your own examples
* Answer Key
4. Bee Categories - addressing categories
This "bee" game may be used to play a game or as flashcards. To play the game, you must draw a card. If you get a bee card, you must name 2-4 items within the category listed at the bottom of the card. If you do it correctly, you keep the card. If not, you must put the cards back. If you draw a fly card, he is protecting the food so the bees can't get it and you must give one of your "bee" cards to another player. If you draw "bee" with food, you get to take a card from another player. The player with the most bees wins!
Included in the download:
* Directions
* 40 category cards
* 8 blank category cards
* 8 wild cards (either lose a card or take a card)
5. Blooming Flowers - addressing comparing/contrasting
In this game, your students will take turns selecting cards from a "messy" pile. If they select a "flower" card, the student must compare/contrast the two words on the bottom of the card. If they answer correctly, they can keep the card. If not, they must return the card to the pile. Watch out for the wild cards that will either have you taking another turn or losing a turn.
This activity includes the following:
* Directions
* 32 cards for comparing/contrasting
* 8 specialty cards
* 8 blank cards for you to add your own pairs
6. Bug Bonanza - addressing how to describe words
Within this game, students are asked to draw a card and must describe the Spring-themed word on the bottom of it using at least 2-3 words/phrases. If they do it correctly, they may keep the card. If not, it goes back in the pile. Wild cards are also included to make the game more fun! Included for this game is:
