Description

Welcome Spring with this fun free following directions worksheet printable. This low-prep print-and-go activity is lots of fun and targets following directions, basic concepts, and listening skills in an easy-to-use, kid-friendly worksheet activity.
Perfect for whole class or small group lessons with a cute spring flowers theme.

Concept words include: First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Last, All, Below, Center.

Teach your students to pay close attention, follow directions carefully, listen for keywords, and more. This spring-themed following directions worksheet introduces springtime vocabulary and basic concept terms while encouraging students to listen carefully to verbal directions. This activity is perfect for in-person and online lessons. A variation of this activity that some teachers have recommended is to encourage students to read and follow the directions rather than just listening to verbal directions. This versatile worksheet activity can target reading comprehension or listening comprehension depending on your classroom goals.

Contents:

  • Spring themed coloring page (print one copy for each student)
  • Read-aloud directions (that include basic concept terms)

To use this product, your students will need a coloring page, crayons, and a pencil. This is a simple activity that you can have ready in minutes. Vary the instructions to the needs of your students. Some of my students are able to follow/remember 2 directions at a time, while other students need to have directions repeated or broken into smaller parts. I also encourage the students to self-advocate when needed. I teach them that it is okay to ask for the directions to be repeated, or clarified.

My students enjoy this activity and I hope yours do too.

Prep is quick and easy... Just print the student pages, gather the materials listed, and you're ready for a fun and engaging class!
