Description

These multiplication fact fluency pyramids provide a fun and effective way for students to learn the toughest single digit multiplication facts from the 3x-9x tables . Not only will this resource help students with the left to right progression of printed content(as the word/sentence pyramids do), but it will help them establish mental multiplication fact archives that can be easily retrieved and recalled. This will occur with short term memory and even better, with long term memory.

Within this resource you will find the following:

CHUNKING- the act of breaking information into smaller “chunks” of related content.

Each multiplication fact is presented as a whole and then practiced in bite-sized chunks which

facilitates mastery.

Learning enhanced by CHUNKING occurs when these resource components are used-

*KITE PYRAMIDS FOR WHOLE FACTS ( 8 pages)

*KITE JIGSAW PUZZLES CENTER ACTIVITY (60 puzzles)

*WRAP IT UP KITE FOR PRACTICE AND SELF-TESTING CONSTRUCTION CENTER ACTIVITY

(there are 35 of these)

*WRITE THE KITE ( learn the fact forward and backward… 35 pages)

*STAND ALONE FLUENCY PYRAMIDS (6 pages)

DIFFERENT FORMATS- all of the above PLUS:

*MIXED EXAMPLES IN VERTICAL FORM (7 pages)

*PUZZLE-THON GAME

SPACING EFFECT/ DISTRIBUTED PRACTICE- having the initial study of a certain fact(s) and the subsequent review or practice spaced out over time rather than repetitive practice massed together usually leads to better retention and recall. (Behavioral and Brain Sciences, 2016)

*To get the optimal effectiveness of this resource, you can use all of the above components of this resource in a schedule such as the one I suggest. (or, you can use them in the page order they are in)

All of this in a March kite theme! However, kites are fun any time of the year!
