Description

This ladybug is such a cute spring craft to make, and it’s always great when children are learning something at the same time, right! With this craft activity, students make a ladybug and write contractions on the spots.

These would look great on a bulletin board too, so I’ve included a bulletin board phrase if you’d like to use it.

There are lots of options to meet your needs:

  • write the contractions (be/have or mixture of verbs)
  • write the two words that make up the contraction
  • student choice of their own words to make contractions
  • editable version so you can choose the words students use
  • ladybug with spots (a shorter activity and great for weaker fine motor skills) or glue on the spots (a longer activity and great for stronger fine motor skills)
  • three cute faces to choose from

I hope your children enjoy making their ladybugs!

I loved this little activity to practice contractions. The materials are differentiated, so I could either give the students the contractions to work with, or have them find the contractions in their reading books. Very fun.
