Description

Happy Spring! Combine double-digit addition & subtraction practice and fun springtime jokes with these math mystery printables. Included in this unit are ten “Spring Mystery Joke” printables and full answer keys. The question sheets are differentiated as follows:

- “Spring Mystery Joke” #1 – Double-digit addition questions without regrouping

- “Spring Mystery Joke” #2 – Double-digit subtraction questions without regrouping

- “Spring Mystery Joke” #3 & #4 – Double-digit addition & subtraction questions without regrouping

- “Spring Mystery Joke” #5 – Double-digit addition questions with regrouping

- “Spring Mystery Joke” #6 – Double-digit subtraction questions with regrouping

- “Spring Mystery Joke” #7 & #8 – Double-digit addition & subtraction questions with regrouping

- “Spring Mystery Joke” #9 & #10 – Double-digit addition & subtraction questions with & without regrouping

To complete the activity, students should answer all the questions to find out each letter’s corresponding number. Students then use that information to complete the message by putting each letter on the line that corresponds to the correct number. Some letters may occur more than once in the answer and some may not appear at all. If done correctly, students will find out the punch line to a springtime joke.

These worksheets could be placed in a math center during the spring or provided to students for independent addition & subtraction practice.
