This fun spring observation journal is a great way for students to practice writing about their thoughts, feelings, opinions, and observations while engaging with the changes in the environment that occur during spring.

Spring Weather: students track the weather for five days and graph the results.

Spring Scavenger Hunt: students go on a nature walk and record what they find.

Sensing Spring: students write about what they see, hear, smell, taste, and feel in the spring. Then they write about their favorite spring activity.

Winter vs. Spring: students compare winter and spring. Then they write about which season they prefer.

Maple Syrup Taste Test: students taste maple syrup. They then write about their experience and try to describe the syrup. There is a word bank of descriptive words to help them with this task.
