Description

Students will design a Pop Art happy flower in this coordinate graphing activity. Each student can apply their own color scheme to make each flower unique. This could be used as a do now, an early finishers assignment, sub plans, homework, or simply a fun activity to do to welcome Spring.

In this graphing activity, students will practice plotting coordinates on 1 Quadrant OR all 4 Quadrants to create the flower design. Let students practice plotting ordered pairs and graphing on a coordinate plane at their skill level.

There are a total of 4 coordinate planes available for modified difficulty:

  • Plot only on Quadrant 1 (x & y axes fully numbered)
  • Plot only on Quadrant 1 (x & y axes numbered multiples of 5s)
  • Plot on all 4 Quadrants (x & y axes fully numbered)
  • Plot on all 4 Quadrants (x & y axes empty)

Graphing paper, coordinates, and both answer keys included.

My students loved this activity and even wanted to challenge themselves as 5th graders to complete the 4 quadrants. The only problem is there is an error in the final column it should say (20, 15) to (25, 16) not (20, 12) because it says (20,12) to (25,11) in the next line.
