Description

This spring-themed, low- / no-prep resource is perfect for mixed speech and language therapy groups. It addresses /r/ sounds through reading and conversation, while also targeting goals related to receptive language, “wh” questions, inferences, and pragmatic language. This resource is ideal for older students who have been working on the /r/ sound and need a final push for carryover in order to master it and reach their therapy goals.

What's Included:

  1. 8 /r/ spring-themed sound loaded stories.
  2. 48+ "wh" questions (at least 6 questions per story)
  3. Opportunities to draw conclusions for each story.
  4. 32 "Would you rather..." /r/ sound loaded questions (4 per story) related to elements of the story. This promotes conversation.
  5. 1 menu page at the beginning of the resource to navigate between stories.

How it Works:

  1. Choose a story on the menu page and click on the thumbnail.
  2. Read the story aloud.
  3. Use the arrow keys at the bottom of each page to navigate between the story and the questions that follow.
  4. After answering the fourth “Would You Rather” question, press the “Home” button in the top left corner to return to the menu page and select a new story.
  5. You may want to underline or highlight the /r/ words on each page.

All stories in this resource are fiction. Stories were created based on real-life situations from the author's life and family members. The stories will be most relatable to older elementary, middle, and high school students.

Although this resource is spring themed, it is not specific to any holiday.
