Description
This is a bundle of a total of 20 reading comprehension and RACE writing worksheets. You can use these for ELA test-prep and to help guide and assess students' progress in reading comprehension and short written response writing. Each worksheet includes a scaffolded version with writing supports (sentence stems). You can print double sided for student choice, 1 sided scaffolded 1 side not.
These are created with test-prep in mind so I like to tell my students to do three things in the writing section: 1. answer the question 2. cite text evidence 3. explain the text evidence.
Answer sheets are included for you to see an example of a good short written response that a student could write.
This bundle includes 4 reading comprehension packs:
I like to use one worksheet as a model/I Do, then I use a second worksheet as a You do together/You do by yourself. As students finish, I check their work and send back (or give guidance) if incorrect, if correct I give them a stamp, have them turn in their work and release them to do may do's.
I like to use these because they're bite-sized, not an overwhelming amount of text for students, but still hold students accountable for comprehension in two ways: multiple choice and short written response.
