I used this resource with students in the summer STEM program. At first it was a little tedious with the string and sometimes the tissue paper...Then they got the hang of it as they went on. They couldn't wait til the next day to fly their kites (the wind is always better in the mornings)! A great end of the day activity.

My students had a great time building their kites. We took a full week and it was great to see other students help their classmates. Knot tying was definately the challenge part. I loved seeing how excited they were when we took the kites out to fly. I don't think they really believed they would fly but they did.

Awesome STEM activity. ALL my students were engaged and successful. Took some extra time to tie knots good enough but everyone had a kit to build. Affordable cost on materials too. Thanks for the great resource. We will build more next semester with our next group of students.
