Description

Have your students look at the pictures to estimate their lengths. Then have them cut out and use the attached ruler to measure the spring-time themed pictures in this standard units of measure activity. Measurements are either to the inch or to the 1/2 inch. This measurement activity can be used for a worksheet, an assessment, or a math center activity. It covers CCSS 2.MD.A.1, 2.MD.A.3, and 2.MD.A.4. I use this in my second grade classroom with much success. First grade students can use it as a challenge and it can also be used for third graders who need a little extra help.

Thank you! This was a great extension activity for my 2nd grade measurement unit! Very fun way to introduce the concept of estimation in measurement!
