Description

Bring your classroom to life with this Sparklewood Village Map activity! Students become map makers for a cozy troll community, designing their own village with natural landforms (mountains, valleys, rivers, forest, and plains) and troll-made locations such as homes, schools, stores, and a fire station.

This hands-on, 2nd grade friendly activity encourages: critical thinking and problem solving, geography skills and understanding of landforms, creativity, and community awareness/planning. You will also receive 5 open-ended thinking challenges so students can solve problems, making it perfect for small groups, centers, or independent work.

Perfect for Spring, geography lessons, or community building projects. Engage students with a fun, imaginative, and educational activity that combines mapping skills with creative thinking!

Pair this with our Sparklewood Civics project where students take on the role of citizens in town and vote for a new mayor, help write laws to solve community problems, and apply for a job!
