Description

Make weather tracking meaningful and engaging with this comprehensive Spring Weather Graphing & Observation Resource! This hands-on activity helps students build important math and science skills through a structured daily weather routine.

Students will observe, record, graph, and analyze weather patterns while developing a deeper understanding of seasonal changes, data collection, and simple graphing concepts.

This low-prep resource is perfect for Kindergarten and early elementary classrooms. It can be used during morning meeting, math centers, science lessons, or small group instruction.

What's Included:

  • 2 Weather Graphing Pages (labeled & student-completed versions)
  • Tally Chart for data collection
  • Daily Weather Log (4-day recording format with drawing and temperature tracking)
  • Observation & Conclusion Page
  • 2 Reflection Pages
  • Large Weather Icons for Classroom Display

How it Works:

  • After discussing weather as a class and making predictions together, students start observing the weather daily and recording their findings using the daily log and tally pages.
  • Students continue collecting data for a set amount of time (I recommend at least 1 full week), then students use their data to complete the graphing page(s) to represent the weather patterns.
  • Students analyze their data using the observation page, answering questions regarding which type of weather happened more/less often.
  • Finally, students reflect on the weather they observed by completing the 2 reflection pages, where they share about their favourite type of spring weather and what activities they like to do during each type of weather.
