Description

This editable 8th grade math foldable provides students with an introduction to square roots and cube roots. Within the foldable, they will be able to list the first 20 perfect squares and perfect cubes. There are also practice problems exposing them to a few types of questions they may see involving roots.

Now with a second option (blue thumbnail) that focuses on solving square root and cube root equations! Download the preview to view both options in detail.

Perfect for interactive math notebooks! I use this type of assignment during whole group guided instruction, but it would also work great for intervention, small group, centers, or during a tutoring session.

This download includes a print + go PDF version, as well as the editable PowerPoint file.

This Square Roots and Cube Roots Foldable Notes – Fully Editable by Lisa Davenport is a fantastic resource for introducing and reinforcing key concepts. The foldable format is highly engaging and helps students organise their thinking in a visual, hands-on way. I love how it breaks down square and cube roots into manageable sections, making the content more accessible for a range of learners. The fact that it’s fully editable is a huge bonus—it makes it easy to adapt for different classes or teaching styles. A practical and flexible resource that fits seamlessly into any maths lesson.

Know that numbers that are not rational are called irrational. Understand informally that every number has a decimal expansion; for rational numbers show that the decimal expansion repeats eventually, and convert a decimal expansion which repeats eventually into a rational number.
