Have your students take on the role of an engineer, as they learn how to design, build, assess and review their work on a squirrel obstacle course. This bundle uses media from YouTube with a video by former NASA Engineer, Mark Rober. Students love the video connection from a beloved YouTuber.
This bundle includes a full multi-lesson Squirrel STEM Engineering Challenge for students. It has a PowerPoint walking you through NGSS Standard aligned Learning Targets and Social-Emotional Targets. It includes a Squirrel STEM Challenge Workbook with pages that align to PowerPoint led activities.
Other materials not provided, but needed: Recycled materials for building the STEM project. I use student-donated boxes and recycled goods like paper towel rolls, cereal boxes, etc. I also have used a fake squirrel toy (not necessary, but fun) or a pink eraser as a weight to test their models.
