Description

This St. Patrick’s Day activities and writing craft resource includes history minilessons, a reading passage with fill-in-the-blank vocabulary bank, a grammar worksheet, and a pot of gold craft with 3 different writing prompts. Students write “How I Caught a Leprechaun”, “In Exchange for 3 Wishes I Let Him Go”, or “If I Had a Pot of Gold…”

Two quick and easy minilesson teach your students about the history of St. Patrick's Day, and when people began celebrating it in the U.S. The second minilesson defines a "leprechaun" and gives a short history of leprechauns found in old Irish fables.

Create an easy bulletin board:

Display your students' pot of gold writing crafts around the included prompt posters for an easy March bulletin board or a low-prep door display. Blank writing templates are included so you can even write in your own prompt if you wish.

Included in the download:

  • 2 St. Patrick’s Day mini-lessons with projectable posters
  • Reading passage with fill-in-the-blank vocabulary
  • St. Patrick's Day parts of speech grammar worksheet
  • Projectable graphic organizers
  • Pot of Gold craft templates
  • Writing templates in two different line styles
  • Teacher directions
  • Blank templates to write your own prompt

Please note: The templates are not editable, however a blank template is included for you or students to hand write their own prompt.

Five activities are included that can be spread over the course of a week, included in your reading or writing centers, used for early finishers or morning work, or added to your March activities.

Please see the preview for more details of everything included.

Happy teaching!
