Students match the leprechaun's pot of gold with base ten practice to 100 in this hands-on math center. Students will match the cards that feature adorable leprechauns in different poses for each pot of gold. They will match the two-digit number to base 10 picture after building the number with their base 10 blocks. A recording sheet is included and the picture on the the recording sheet directly corresponds with the matching game cards. (The matching game cards are in color and the recording sheet is in black and white).

The game is designed to reinforce base 10 identification and composing two-digit numbers using base ten blocks. The recording sheet serves as accountability for completing the matching game and to demonstrate mastery of the standard.

An additional worksheet is also included for students to cut out the base ten picture and paste it next to the pot of gold with the corresponding two digit number.

Alternate uses for play:

• Use in small group instruction to reinforce core math instruction to struggling learners
• Use as a whole class (24 cards); each student can get one card and find their partner
• Use on a pocket chart for a practice in a partner activity center
• Use individually for each student at a center (24 cards for each student prepared in a bag)
