The luck of the Irish is coming!!! Are your students ready for the little green leprechauns? Now, you can talk about all things "St. Patrick's Day" with your students and have them describe the objects and activities associated with this fun and festive holiday. This St. Patrick's Describing Bingo game can be played two different ways: Bingo or a matching/memory game. Your students can work on learning the different vocabulary found during St. Patrick's Day (e.g. pot of gold, shamrock, leprechaun, etc.). For the Bingo game, have your student select one of the calling cards and describe it to the other students. There are numerous cards that look similar, so the "describer" has to be very specific. Is it the hat with the shamrock? Does the Irish girl have a shamrock or a dress with a shamrock on it? See if their description has enough information to determine which picture the describer has. As another game, you can print out doubles of the calling cards and play memory, go-fish, etc.
